Asian Para Games gold-medalist Sheetal Devi showcased her prowess once again by securing a silver medal in the Khelo India NTPC National Ranking archery meet. The competition, held at the DDA Yamuna Sports Complex, witnessed the 17-year-old Sheetal competing against able-bodied junior archers. She narrowly missed the gold, finishing second to Haryana's Ekta Rani, a junior world champion, with a score of 138-140 in the individual compound event final.

Sheetal Devi, who was honored with the prestigious Arjuna award earlier this year, has been a beacon of inspiration. Born with phocomelia, a rare condition leaving her without arms, she stands out as the first and only international para-archery champion without arms. Her remarkable achievements at the Hangzhou Asian Para Games, where she clinched two gold medals and a silver, have solidified her status as a formidable athlete.

Expressing her optimism and determination, Sheetal highlighted the significance of her performance in the Khelo India event. "This result will help me more going ahead in the international platforms and the Olympics," Sheetal stated in a media release from the Sports Authority of India.
